French Cruises
With France just a day sail away we are spoilt for places
to
visit along the Normandy and Brittany
coast.
Cherbourg is usually our first port of call.
Only about 10
hours from Portsmouth it makes a good starting
off point.
To the west are the Channel Isles that have
their own
charm and form a cruise all of their own. Just around
the
corner is charming Diolette, one of sailing’s best
kept secrets
– very few yachts go there!
A short sail further on takes us to Carteret. With a big tidal
rise and fall, this has a delightful locked in marina. Here
there
are some lovely walks and a great choice of restaurants.
An alternative adventure is to go south east from Portsmouth
to Fecamp
– home of the Benedictine monastery
– and then
to travel west along the coast of Normandy.
This gives access to some of the prettiest little ports in
northern
France, and also the famous Normandy beaches
used by the
Allies for the D-day landings. Click here for our Normandy
beaches cruise.
Whether you have a long weekend or a fortnight we can tailor
make a French cruise to suit you and your party.
