Sample Itinerary
| Day 1 |
Leave Portsmouth Harbour and sail East to
Eastbourne Marina. |
| Day 2 |
Cross Channel to Fecamp. |
| Day 3 |
Rest day in Fecamp. The wonderful Benedictine Monastery,
where the famous Benedictine Liqueur is from, can be visited. |
| Day 4 |
Sail across the mouth of the River Seine to Honfleur. Rightfully
called the prettiest harbour in Normandy. Plenty of opportunities
for shopping. This is a centre for art shops and local jewellery |
| Day 5 |
Sail to Ouistraham. This is at the start of the Caen Canal
and is entered through through a large commercial lock into
a pretty tree lined marina. |
Day 6 |
Sail up the Caen canal past the famous Pegasus Bridge
and the first house to be liberated. This is done in convoy
with other yachts, and the bridges are opened especially
for us. |
| Day 7 |
Part day in Caen followed by the trip back down the Canal. |
| Day 8 |
A trip along the coast to visit the famous beaches and the
American memorial. Suffice it to say, it will be a day that
will live in your memory for the rest of your lives. |
| Day 9 |
Sail to St Vaast on the Cotentin peninsular. A quaint
Normandy fishing harbour. |
| Day 10 |
By taxi or sail (depending on tides) to Cherbourg to take
the overnight ferry back to Portsmouth. |
This proposed itinerary is, of course, flexible, depending
on weather conditions prevailing at the time, and your particular
requirements.
